Dramatherapy is one of the four forms of Creative Arts Therapy (music, dance, art and drama) and it helps to understand and know yourself by exploring your unconscious. The unconscious is the part of the mind which is inaccessible to the conscious mind but which affects behaviour and emotions.
Dramatherapy is about opening a space where you can listen to your instincts and you can unlock messages from your body and mind that you may not be aware of. We may use objects, puppets, masks, drawing, music, dance, movement, games, story, myths or silence. It will depend on which you feel most comfortable with. You do not need to have any acting experience.
Dramatherapy is not about acting, it is about connecting with your unconscious and your body. Dramatherapy works mostly with the unconscious so things may not always make sense but often arriving at meaningful answers as they emerge indirectly through the work done in the sessions
